Your host, Kim, qualified as a chef in 1982 and after several positions in the UK moved to the United States. She has cooked for both senior politicians and foreign royalty. When she returned to the UK she held a number of senior marketing positions before joining our sea school, Mercator Maritime, in 2004..

 

She has been making curtains and other soft furnishings for many years and became interested in upholstery a number of years ago. Since then she has successfully completed several external upholstery courses.

 

She is a keen yachtswoman and has completed both Yachtmaster Shorebased and Coastal Skipper practical courses. She is also a keen horsewoman.

 

After we moved to Dorset in 2006 Kim opened Mercator Lodge with the objective of providing our guests with a warm friendly welcome in the comfort of our modern home. She continually strives to achieve the highest standards in all areas and this commitment is fully reflected in the comments left by our guests.
